Working in the electrical services industry is dangerous

Young workers may be exposed to live electrical currents, arc flashes, and face the possibility of falls or burns.

To keep safe, there are four basic rules you must remember.
  • 1. Licensed workers only

    Only licensed electrical workers can legally perform electrical work.

  • 2. Supervised for learners

    Apprentices and trainees must be supervised by a qualified electrical worker at all times.

  • 3. Training and clear instructions

    You must be properly trained and given clear instructions on how to work safely.

  • 4. Safe, maintained equipment

    Your PCBU must make sure all equipment is well maintained and safe to use.
